It is seven years since I was wonderfully healed, both physically and mentally, through Christian Science. I had been an invalid for twenty-three years, and what I suffered no tongue can tell. It would be impossible to enumerate all the ills that came to me. Probably my worst trouble was indigestion in a most complicated form. I could barely take enough nourishment to sustain me. In addition to this I had inflammation of the liver and extreme nervousness. I would have what the doctors called nervous spells, and at each stroke it would seem that I could not live much longer. I went through two operations; and at one time I lay in a sanitarium for four weeks, having the best doctors within reach, but receiving only temporary relief. It seemed to me that I tried every remedy known to the medical world during those twenty-three years, but all to no avail. I grew to be more of a physical wreck all the time. The doctors were very kind, and I appreciate their earnestness and patience in trying to relieve me.
Finally, Christian Science was brought to my notice. I turned to it, and was wonderfully healed. Only those who have suffered as I have can know what it means to be well. I had treatment for four months; and though the improvement at first was slow, I knew that I had found the only source of help for me. I studied the Bible and the text book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, carefully, and with the loving help of a practitioner I finally grasped the great truth contained therein. I am now rejoicing in a new-found peace. Christian Science has met all my needs for seven years.
I had been a member of a so-called orthodox church for a number of years; but when I read the teachings of Jesus as explained in Christian Science, I knew my religion was not what it should be. Since coming into Science I can better understand the Bible; and I find that the teachings of Jesus are practical, and can be put into use each day. I am very grateful for what Science has meant to me; and grateful to all those who have been instrumental in bringing its wonderful teachings to me. The true literature of Christian Science, too, is a source of pleasure and inspiration. My earnest desire is to know more of God as He is revealed to us through these teachings.
