[Original testimony in French]
I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing,...
I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but because I was searching for Truth. I felt, from the first, that here alone should I find the answer to all my aspirations. Since that time, I have had many proofs of the power of Truth. I have been healed of frequent and violent headaches, of influenza, of an eye trouble pronounced incurable, and also of erysipelas, for which I asked the help of a practitioner. I have been helped in all sorts of ways, and under all circumstances.
One day, when the weather was unpleasant, I was crossing the road and trying to avoid being splashed by the passing vehicles, when a chauffeur, noticing this, crossed over towards me and, in a spirit of mischief, tried to do the very thing I was avoiding. As he got near me, the car skidded and he lost control of it. The thought came, If I fall, I am done for. This was replaced at once by the thought, But God is ever present. From that moment I saw nothing further and felt nothing. I found myself on the other side of the car without knowing how I got there, and without having fallen. Touched I had evidently been, for the provisions which I was carrying in a bag had been crushed. There was an outcry in the street. One lady was anxious for me to take something, declaring I must have been very much frightened. Another one seemed quite scandalized because I was smiling, and said, "She was not even frightened." A third one added, "We have certainly seen a miracle."
This experience helped me to see that God is ever present. This recognition of omnipresence has brought me the help and comfort of which I was in such great need. I wish to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science and for Mrs. Eddy; also for the devoted practitioner who has helped me to walk in the pathway of Truth.
