[Written for the Sentinel]

"I will lift up mine eyes"

Lift up your eyes; behold and see,
A glorious day is breaking;
The light is clear. See, heaven is here;
And all the world is waking.

Tis God's dear love that brings the dawn;
That sets you free from terror;
That holds your hand; and bids you stand,
And prove the lie of error.

The shadows flee, the day has come,
The truth uplifted greets you;
The sun shines forth o'er all the earth,
The Father comes and meets you.

Be of good cheer; lo, heaven is here;
God's angels tell the story;
Triumph in Him; look up and sing;
Christ is your "hope of glory."
