Copies of Lectures
Copies of Christian Science lectures, for distribution with Sentinels on the occasion of the delivery of a lecture, may be obtained at the rate of $3.00 per one hundred copies. They may be purchased separately or in connection with Sentinels.
These copies of lectures are not for general distribution; but if there are any remaining after a lecture, they may be used in the distribution work as inserts in the Sentinel.
Date Marks on Periodicals
It is customary in some countries, when indicating dates by numbers, to place the day of the month first, then the month, and third, the year; so that 2-1-23 would mean the second day of the first month, 1923.
The date appearing in the top line of the subscriber's address on The Christian Science Monitor partially reverses the above order and indicates, first, the month, then the day of the month, and third, the year; therefore, the date M 9 10 23 means that the Monitor subscription terminates September 10, 1923.
Orders for Bibles, Subscriptions, et cetera
All orders for literature, subscriptions, and miscellaneous articles should be accompanied by the remittance. Address such orders and make checks payable to The Christian Science Publishing Society, Back Bay Station, Boston, Massachusetts.
Subscription Rates to the Christian Science Periodicals
For information regarding subscription rates, see inside front cover page of the Sentinel.
Change of Address
When subscribers are contemplating a change of address, the Publishing Society would appreciate a notification of the change as far in advance as possible, in order to insure uninterrupted delivery of the periodicals.
Subscribers are requested to give both the old and the new address and the name of every periodical for which the change is desired; also to send in the name exactly as it appears on the wrappers of the periodicals.
Articles and Testimonies
Articles from members of The Mother Church and good testimonies from those healed by Christian Science are always welcomed for consideration by the Editors. They should be typewritten (double spaced) or written legibly, on one side of the paper only; and the addresses given should be complete; also the source of all quotations should be given. Women should use the title "Miss" or "Mrs.," and married women should sign their own names in full, instead of the names of their husbands.
Testimonies should be verified by three members of The Mother Church, and in the case of a member or an attendant of a branch church one of the verifiers should be the clerk or some other officer of that church, who has either witnessed the healing or can vouch for the integrity of the testifier. In the verification of testimonies by a church officer, the title of the office should be given. An affidavit made before a Notary Public is acceptable, if the testifier does not know three members of The Mother Church.
Manuscript for publication in the Journal and Sentinel, whether articles, poems, or testimonies, and correspondence relating thereto, should not be addressed to individuals, but to the Editorial Department, The Christian Science Publishing Society, Back Bay Station, Boston, Massachusetts.
Compliance with the foregoing will greatly facilitate the work of the Editorial Department.
From the Clerk of The Mother Church
The Tenets of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, for use of branch Churches of Christ, Scientist, are printed on folded sheets, containing space for adding the application form for membership in branch organizations, or extracts from their by-laws. These may be obtained in the regular size, and also in a form suitable for binding into booklets containing by-laws. Either size may be ordered from the Clerk at seventy-five cents a hundred, the minimum order, but unless otherwise specified, the larger size will be sent. Remittances should accompany all orders, but postage stamps should not be sent in payment.
The Tenets may also be obtained in either size printed in English and German on alternate pages.
Correspondence relative to the Tenets should be addressed to George Wendell Adams, Clerk, 236 Huntington Avenue, Back Bay Station, Boston, Massachusetts.
From the Church Treasurer
Per Capita Tax, as provided in the Church Manual, Article VIII, Section 13, is due annually from "every member of The Mother Church," and "shall be forwarded each year to the Church Treasurer." This tax of "not less than one dollar" may be forwarded at any time during the year. When a remittance for church dues is more than the amount required to balance one's account, the surplus is credited for the present year.
Contributions to The Christian Science Benevolent Association are acceptable; and contributions may also be made to the General Fund and to the Real Estate Fund of The Mother Church.
Please make all remittances payable to Edward L. Ripley, Treasurer, and send them to him at 236 Huntington Avenue, Back Bay Station, Boston, Massachusetts.
