Christian Science has taught me how to pray, so that sin...
Christian Science has taught me how to pray, so that sin and sickness may be overcome. Before I knew of Christian Science I had great fear of future punishment and separation from my loved ones. Having a violent temper, I would do things that would cause me great remorse and suffering. Asking God to forgive me did not prevent a recurrence of these spells, so I felt I was doomed to everlasting punishment. When I learned of Christian Science, it was a light dispelling the darkness. It meant such freedom to know how to overcome evil.
When my son was a baby he had a double rupture, which seemed to have been healed through wearing an appliance. About five years later, after playing, he came into the house screaming, holding his hand where the rupture had been. Placing him on the bed, I saw that the rupture had reappeared. I tried to push it back, but he would not let me touch it; and for this I am grateful. Through the understanding of Christian Science alone the healing immediately took place, and has been permanent. He is now sixteen years old, a strong young man, carrying heavy loads while acting as "substitute United States mail carrier."
I am so grateful for the consecrated life of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who, through Christian Science, has given to the world so much peace and happiness.
