Christian Science teaches that Christ is the Son of God...
Eastern Daily Press
Christian Science teaches that Christ is the Son of God, as can be seen from Mrs. Eddy's definition of the word "Son" in the Glossary of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 594), which is as follows: "Son. The Son of God, the Messiah or Christ." Christian Scientists do not claim as yet to have reached the standard of the Master, nor do they understand that to try to obey his instructions and follow his example is to reduced Christ to their level; rather, it is their endeavor to lift themselves nearer to that stature of manhood in Christ Jesus which Paul speaks of in Ephesians, when he says so simply and clearly, "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ."
It is the experience of all Christian Science workers that inquirers do much questioning, and that it is only as their questions are satisfactorily answered by careful study and application of the teachings of Christian Science, accompanied by demonstration of the same, that their fear of the false beliefs of death, hell, and disease is removed. Lastly, Christian Science is not "a religion in which each cultivates personal comfort of mind, and neglects duty to God and mankind as of secondary importance." On the contrary, it teaches that Jesus' command to every man to "deny himself, and take up his cross daily," is no less imperative than the command to "heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."
