Many men, learned and otherwise, have attempted to prove that Christian Science is not Christian; but no one has ever proved it, because it is an impossibility. Christian Science, so named by its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, is founded on the teachings of the Bible, absolutely and entirely; and when the teaching of Christian Science is understood, it will be seen to conform perfectly with the teaching and practice of the master Christian, Christ Jesus; therefore Christian Science is Christian.

Take, for instance, the reverend gentleman's reference to Mrs. Eddy's definition of God as "incorporeal," as meaning "without a body." Webster defines "incorporeal" as "not having a material body or form; not consisting of matter." Who will dare to say that the body of God is material? I am sure the reverend gentleman himself, though he purports to say that God is a "person," cannot say He is a corporeal or material person. Then, there is his statement, too, that Jesus was God. Let Jesus himself refute that in his own words, "Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God." Christian Science teaches that Christ Jesus was the Son of God, as the Bible states; and when Christian Science is understood, it harmonizes the seeming contradictions in the Bible. The true test of Christianity is not, however, in these doctrinal points, but in the obedience to the commandements of God, as taught by Christ Jesus and the prophets.
