I should like to express my deep gratitude for all that...

I should like to express my deep gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me during the last six years. My life has been completely changed in every detail, and I now feel that I have a definite aim to work for, and that is to be able to give to others equally positive proofs of the truth of Christian Science, as did those which first led me to look into the works of Mrs. Eddy.

I read our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for the first time, in order to try to find a remedy for a friend. I soon realized, however, that this was indeed the truth, and that I could be healed of a slight internal trouble, which I had had for some time. I had been treated by a doctor for this same difficulty, but without success. I continued to read the textbook, as I had no idea of a practitioner or a treatment. About a fortnight later, I discovered to my great astonishment that this trouble had completely disappeared. This demonstration has helped me many times since, because it showed me that Science and Health does indeed contain the truth. Since that time I have never requested the help of a doctor or medicine. Christian Science has met my every need, protecting and guiding me at the most difficult moments.

Christian Science has been a great help to me in my work, and I am realizing more and more every day that God is an ever present help. Last summer, at the holiday season, there seemed to be an apparent lack of work. Some one made the remark that one could not expect to find work during the "dead season." This sounded so ludicrous, when viewed in the light of Science, that I saw my mistake; and immediately upon realizing that God, who is Life, could know no "dead season," my need was met, and work was forthcoming in the country, which proved most interesting and helpful. More work was awaiting me immediately upon my return to the city. This was not sufficient to keep me fully occupied, however, and I needed to find other work as well. A few weeks passed, and then I saw that I had just been lazily waiting to be helped by divine Love, instead of using the wisdom and intelligence given so plentifully by God to work out our problems. This thought aroused me from the apathy into which I had slipped, and some work was disclosed that had just been waiting for me all the time. Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 60), "Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind." If we would only measure our supply by these "infinite resources," and not by our own ideas of what we need, how much joy and happiness we should find in our daily lives, not only to solve our own problems, but also to help those around us!
