Christian Science came to me when I was grately in need of healing. An acute attack of colitis, from which I had suffered for ten years, had failed to yield to osteopathy or treatments at a sanitarium. I had spent two weeks at this institution and returned home weaker and much worse.

I decided as a last resort to try Christian Science, and a practitioner was called. I bluntly told her I had no faith in Science, and feared she could do nothing for me under those conditons. She kindly assured me God could relieve my pain; and then I could investigate if I wished. In a very few moments after the treatment was given the pain was all gone, and a sense of peace and comfort filled me. I was eager to investigate, and took up the study at once. This was on a Friday. I walked about four blocks the next Wednesday evening to the Christian Science church. In another week I walked one half mile to the reading room, and purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Previous to calling the practitioner, I had been using five enemas and taking nineteen doses of remedies each day. All were promptly discontinued. The healing of bowel difficulty in twenty-four hours was complete and permanent. I have never used medicine in any form since; and more than three years have passed. Colitis is a thing of the past also.

It is a joy to labor: I can work all day without fatigue, whereas before, I could work only a few hours in one day; and for three months before my healing I could sit up only about thirty minutes at one time. I was healed of unbelief also; and I now read the Bible with pleasure and better understanding. I wish to express heartfelt gratitude to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to the loving practitioner, who has been kind and patient with my slow understanding.
