I would like to testify to the many blessings that have come to me through the great and wonderful healing power of Christian Science. Although my mother was a sincere seeker for the truth, I cared nothing for it, although its power to heal had been proved to me when treatment was given for so-called Spanish influenza accompanied by severe hemorrhages of the nose, the result of which our local doctors said would cause death. I was also healed of sore throat and a swelling of the jaw which was very hard and caused intense pain. However, I was content to seek pleasure in things material. My awakening came, however, when I gave birth to a premature, very badly deformed and discolored baby boy, who scarcely weighed two pounds. There was also a sore on the neck, and a naval rupture. The attending physician left the little one to die, and told me not to expect him to live, although I did not see the baby for several hours and did not know the conditions. My mother, a Scientist, who was with me, realized suddenly her duty, took the baby, and immediately started to work mentally, as we are taught to do in Christian Science. The little jaw had dropped, and to mortal sense the little one was passing away. The deformed appearance was healed instantaneously. The neck and the rupture were also healed. With premature babies the valves of the heart are said not to close properly, and the doctor cautioned us not to lay him on the left side as he would smother. This was also overcome in a very short time, leaving the child resting most comfortably on the left side and sleeping six and seven hours at one time.

He has also been healed of whooping cough, convulsions, bronchitis, milk poisoning, sickness while teething, and from bondage to one of the man-made laws of heredity. Just a couple of months ago he was perfectly healed, by Science treatment, of a disease which was proving fatal to some having physicians. The birth occurred in September, 1920, and to-day he is a happy, blue-eyed youngster weighing twenty-five pounds at seventeen months of age, and has a perfect set of sixteen teeth. He seems overly bright and intelligent for his size and age, but I know that is because the child of God knows no intelligence but that which is God-given and which rules harmoniously its divine ideas in the realm of Mind.

I have been healed of a condition of displacement simply by reading the textbook. For the wonderful healing of my baby and the benefits my whole family have received, I am truly grateful. I am also very thankful for the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," given us by our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and for the Lesson-Sermons, which are my daily food. I wish to express gratitude, also, to God for the loving, true workers in His vineyard, who have shown so much love to me and mine. I hope to gain more of this blessed understanding, whereby we are able to lessen the seeming reality of evil, which tries to overcome us so often. The words, "For we are also his offspring," and "In thy light shall we see light," have truly a wonderful meaning to me.
