For nearly twenty years Christian Science has been our only physician, and in that time many ills have been overcome and eliminated through the understanding and application of the Christ, Truth. One of the healings that stands out in our early experience, is that of our boy, then a babe, six months old. For days he had not been able to take any nourishment and lay in my arms, almost lifeless, his little body wasting away each day. In that week's Bible Lesson the reference from Matthew was given, "The rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock." This truth, together with the aid of a loving practitioner, kept me standing on the Rock, and never once did I fear that our babe would not be restored,—even though our neighbors were saying that the child could not live.

Late one night my husband came home and found me holding the child in my arms, no better, to sense, than he had left him in the morning; so he said, "I want a doctor to come and diagnose the case." Realizing that the father had a right to be satisfied, I went to the telephone and called two physicians, but was not able to reach either one. By this time the hour was so late my husband consented to wait until morning. I sat the remainder of the night with the babe in my arms, knowing that God was our only Physician, and that however hard the "rain descended," and however hard the "winds blew," mortal sense could not destroy or even shake the consciousness that knew God to be All-power and matter to be nothing. With the dawn, the babe fell into a natural sleep. He awoke later and took the first nourishment in over a week. From that time on he was well. In a day or two the neighbors, who had predicted his death, could not realize that he was the same child.

This experience and many others have been milestones along my travels from material sense to the Christ-understanding, for which I am grateful. They have been tests of my faith, and have proven to me God's allness even in the darkest hour. My love and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for having revealed to us, through "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the truth which heals and saves, is unbounded.
