Kenmore, N. Y. (Society).—An event of more than ordinary interest took place on Easter Sunday in Kenmore, when the Christian Science Society opened its new church edifice on the northeast corner of East Hazeltine and Myron Avenues. Three services were held. The church is of light brick construction of colonial design, after plans and specifications by a Buffalo architect, who superintended the work. The building covers two lots and has a well-designed entrance at the corner, which is reached by a series of granite steps and leads into an attractive lobby. The lobby has a fireplace at the opposite end, and is designed to be used as a reading room during week days. Patent folding doors separate this room from the auditorium to permit of increased seating facilities should the occasion arise. The auditorium is finished in light buff, with walnut pews to harmonize with the general design of the building, and gives a very restful appearance. Indirect lighting is used in the auditorium. Behind the rostrum are the readers' and the soloist's rooms, and sufficient space to accommodate a good-sized pipe organ.

Above the lobby is a large room for committee meetings and such purposes, which in case of necessity is capable of being turned into a gallery, thus increasing the seating capacity of the church. The basement has been finished to care for the Sunday school, which meets at the same hour as the morning service. Retiring and checking rooms are also provided under the main floor. The cost of the building is understood to have been in the neighborhood of twenty-five thousand dollars; and its design and general appearance adds greatly to the neighborhood. The cornerstone of this church was laid on November 10, 1921, and very rapid progress has been made with the work. For the past four years the society has been holding services in the village hall.—North Buffalo News.
