The Lectures

London, England (Seventh Church).—The following remarks were made by Mrs. Lucy E. Mann when introducing a Christian Science lecturer:—

In Revelation we read, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Though centuries have passed since these words were written, they are as vital now as they were then, for Christian Science is knocking at the door of human thought, waiting to come in and bring with it the promise, and the fulfillment, of mental, moral, and physical freedom.

Christian Science is like the dawn of an Easter morn, awakening thought to a higher sense of life and leading to where the angel messenger points away from a night of darkness and the sepulcher of buried hope upward to the joys of a risen Savior,—the unseen living Presence ever with us. Like the Master of old it proves to the doubting Thomas its healing power,—the substance of true understanding,—and blesses those who open wide the door to receive and assimilate its teaching. It is so simple that a little child may demonstrate its divine Principle, yet so deep and broad and wide that the unfolding of eternity could not exhaust its treasures of Truth, its gems of Love, nor its joyous sense of Life. Like countless others who have turned to Christian Science and obtained relief, I am deeply grateful for the large measure of health and happiness it has brought to me.
