It would be impossible to express in words my gratitude...
It would be impossible to express in words my gratitude for all the benefits I have received in the study of Christian Science. Thanks to Christian Science, and the work of a faithful practitioner, I am alive and well to-day, doing all my own work and doing just as much work as I ever did. I am now sixty-eight years old and have lived on a farm all my life. My life has been a very busy one indeed, as I never kept any help.
My first healing was about seventeen years ago, from the results of a fall downstairs. Since then I have had many healings. About five years ago, while coming home from meeting a train, the horse became frightened and ran away. I was thrown violently against a post, striking my collar-bone and crushing it. The accident occurred on a Friday afternoon. I was picked up in an unconscious condition, a doctor was called, and death was predicted. The accident was so serious, and the shock at my age was supposed to be so great, that the doctor did not think it worth while to try to set any bones; for he though I would pass on without regaining consciousness. Monday morning, about two o'clock, I opened my eyes and at once asked for a Christian Science practitioner, who came during the day, but gave me help as soon as she knew what had happened. The trained nurse and the doctor were very much opposed to my being treated by Christian Science, but I was firm and got what I wanted. The doctor set the bones on Sunday night; and in a month I was out of bed and doing all my own work. When the doctor saw my recovery, he made the statement that he "could take off his hat to Christian Science."
I thank God for Christian Science, and am indeed truly grateful.
