It is with love and gratitude to God that I write this...
It is with love and gratitude to God that I write this testimony. I hardly know how to begin to enumerate my blessings since coming into Christian Science. I can truthfully say that where once there was discouragement, unrest, and much fear, now there is peace, confidence, and assurance of God's great love for His children. Christian Science has been the only physician in our family of three for the past fifteen years. During these years we have had many cases of healing, amongh them influenza, severe sore throat, headaches, nervousness, inflammation of the stomach, and many others. Often we have been able to overcome physical ills by our own understanding, and at othere times we have had the help of loving practitioners, for which we are most grateful.
Before coming into Christian Science I had a severer case of what the physicians call milk leg, and was left with the bad effects of blood-poisoning and swelling, physicians saying that it would never be overcome and that I would always have to wear a rubber stocking. I suffered with these conditions for several years; but I am grateful to say that they have been entirely overcome through my study of Christian Science and with the loving help of practitioners.
While I am grateful for the physical healings, I am more grateful for the understanding of God that has come to me through Christian Science. Christian Science has enabled me to appreciate our blessed Master, Jesus of Nazareth, more than ever before, as through this teaching I have a better understanding of his wonderful work for the world; and I am grateful, indeed, that our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has followed in his footsteps closely enough to be able to repeat the Christ-healing in this age. I am also grateful that Mrs. Eddy established the Christian Science movement so that Christian healing will never again be lost from the world. I am grateful that we have been given the Manual of The Mother Church, the Board of Directors, the Board of Lectureship, class teaching, the periodicals, the reading rooms, church services, the Sunday school, and all other blessings which Christian Science gives to the world. I am thankful for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school. I have been greatly benefited by this work and have learned many valuable lessons from the children.
