The Christian Science Board of Directors announces the election of Mr. A. Hervey Bathurst of London, England, as a member of the Board of Lectureship of The Mother Church.
Mr. Bathurst was educated at Eton College, and studied languages on the Continent with a view to entering the Diplomatic Service. Subsequently, he took up engineering, spending twelve years in one of the leading armament manufacturing establishments in England. While thus employed, he commenced the study of Christian Science, and in 1906 resigned his position in order to devote all of his time to Christian Science work.
Mr. Bathurst has been a Christian Science practitioner for many years, and has served First Church of Christ, Scientist, in London, as First Reader, Trustee, and Superintendent of the Sunday school. He has also served as District Manager of the Committees on Publication for Great Britain and Ireland; and, later, was attached to the European office of The Christian Science Monitor as London News Editor, and in recent months in the capacity of its European Editor. He was a member of the Normal Class of the Christian Science Board of Education in 1910.
