I wish to express my thankfulness to God for benefits received from the application of the truth, through the understanding of Christian Science, and also desire to express my gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who so lovingly showed us by her own demonstration that God is an ever present help.

Some time ago while coming downstairs I slipped and fell to the lower landing. I am heavy and, the fall being severe, I was stunned. On regaining consciousness I found my side badly hurt and my ankle injured, and I had difficulty in reaching the upper floor, although I tried to realize the truth for myself. At this time my daughter was ill and I felt that I must manage to go to her. On arriving at her home I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner for help, as the pain was intense and I could no longer stand on my foot. A little later a physician called to see my daughter. He noticed that I could not walk around and was told of the accident. He diagnosed the case as a very bad sprain and wished to use the X-ray, but I resisted, for I knew my help lay in Christian Science. He drove me home in his machine, and almost had to carry me into the house.

A short time after the doctor left, the Christian Science practitioner came and gave me a treatment. She called again in the evening, and when she went home, said she would continue to treat me. I was completely healed during the night. Next morning I did a large washing, went down town and did some shopping for my daughter, then went to her house to spend the rest of the day. The doctor had predicted that I would be laid up at least six weeks.
