A writer in a recent issue certainly was not correctly informed concerning the practice of Christian Science or he would not have attempted to classify its healing work with the alleged cures of Hindu fakirs and Buddhist priests. It is easy to make such erroneous statements in the absence of definite knowledge of Christian Science, but those who understand and demonstrate this Science know that it is the very opposite of every from of oriental occultism and hypnotism.

Christian Science heals both sin and sickness through a spiritual understanding of God, and its acceptance by the people results from the good it does. This Science declares that sin, sickness, and death were never created by God, and hence from the standpoint of God's perfect creation these abnormalities have neither cause nor reality. They claim to exist as realities in human consciousness, however, and it is the work of Christian Science to destroy the hold of these enemies on humanity.

Christian Science is based on the teachings of the Bible, which is the Word of God; therefore there is light in this Science and it is manifested by those who fully accept the statement of the Master, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." Jesus based the whole structure of Christianity on works and not on profession. As Christian Science is a clear explanation of the teachings of Christ Jesus, in strict accord with his divine Principle and rule, it proves its authority in destroying the "works of the devil," and the fruits of this Science of Christianity make it known as God's revealtion of truth, welcome to sincere seekers after health and righteousness everywhere.
