I should like to say something of what Christian Science...

I should like to say something of what Christian Science has done for me. As a child I was supposed to be delicate, and then I became ill. We went to various doctors, and I was not allowed to do any of the things girls generally do, or to learn any lessons; so except for what I taught myself, I had practically no education. When my mother was healed by Christian Science in a most wonderful way, I would have nothing to do with it. In spite of this the symptoms of my illness gradually disappeared, and six months after her healing I began to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Since then all the limitations I thought belonged to me are year by year being broken down. It is difficult to express the gratitude I feel. It is wonderful to be able to do things I thought I should never be able to do, to be of some use after all, and to find that the things I had taught myself were the very things that were needed. It seems such a proof that God is Love. "I girded thee, though thou hast not known me," as we read in Isaiah. I am also grateful for the overcoming of the fear of lack.

I feel a sense of gratitude and love to Mrs. Eddy, when I think of what she has done for the world, that is impossible to express, but that every Christian Scientist knows.
