Not having the opportunity to attend the Wednesday...
Not having the opportunity to attend the Wednesday evening meetings, as I live in the mountains, I want to express my gratitude through our periodicals for what Christian Science has done for me and mine. My brother, who had been much benefited both physically and mentally through Christian Science while in the West, first brought it to our notice, and was very desirous that I should try it. Treatment was accordingly asked for, and in March, 1916, I was healed of a severe throat difficulty of eighteen years' duration, which the best medical skill could help only temporarily; also glasses, which had been worn for the same length of time, were laid aside. My mother, too, is much interested in this teaching. In the fall of 1916, through the faithful work of a practitioner, she was healed of what material sense terms hardening of the arteries. She is now over seventy years of age, able to attend to household duties, and in good health.
There is no Christian Science church within sixty-three miles of my home, but with the Lesson-Sermons to guide me each day, as well as Mrs. Eddy's works, and the authorized periodicals, including The Christian Science Monitor, I have the much needed help, and every spare moment is filled. We are a happy family, having one Mind, and are striving to attain more of the spiritual understanding of God through the application of Christian Science. I am exceedingly grateful for the spiritual uplift that has come from following Mrs. Eddy's teachings, and for the many healings. I am thankful to God, and know that His protecting care is with me no matter where I am. My hope is some day to be able to take class instruction, so as to be better prepared to help not only myself but others.
Last year I became a member of a branch church, also of The Mother Church. My constant prayer is that I may so live as to reflect the allness of Life, Truth, and Love.
