The following experience is given as another proof of man's oneness with God. It was my duty recently to take a civil service examination for a position which I had held one term. I had had practical experience with the work, but when it came to taking a theoretical examination based on book knowledge, as I had been told most civil service examinations were, I began to think it was a pretty hard proposition I was up against; however, I went to work mentally to know that intelligence belongs to God and that man as His perfect idea is the expression of intelligence. When I entered the classroom I was as fearless as if I had been going to do any usual work, and the peace experienced was worth all the effort. I called up the practitioner whom I had asked to help me a couple of days before and told him that I was already successful, no matter what grade the examination paper had on it. In a few days I received a report which was excellent, being number one on the list for this district, and my joy when the appointment for duty was received, can be imagined. Surely it has been proved to me that, as our Leader says (Science and Health, Preface, p. vii), "to those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."

I am so grateful for the protecting influence of Christian Science, and the knowledge that we can use the understanding we have in every time of trial has indeed been a source of much comfort to me. I hope this testimony will give encouragement to those who have been tried and tested as I have been.

When I was about twelve years of age I was healed through Christian Science of granulated eyelids, from which I had suffered intensely, and was able to lay aside glasses which I had worn for about three years. My mother some few years before had been healed of a disease which had been pronounced incurable by the best specialists that could be had at that time, but until my own healing I had not seemed to manifest much interest in Christian Science. For over eighteen years now, however, I have depended absolutely on it. I have a little son and daughter and they have been healed of many ailments, but for the most part have escaped the diseases that children seem heir to, through our application of the truth as given in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
