I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me, having been healed of a so-called incurable trouble, tubercular disease of the throat and lungs. I had gone to a number of institutions, and had been given up a number of times by prominent physicians. I had suffered for several years, hardly knowing what it was to feel well. I lost my speech for weeks at a time, getting it back only to lose it again, and had to give up my position, as I was hardly able to go out alone. A friend heard about my conditions and asked me why I had never tried Christian Science. She told me that she thought if I went to a practitioner I would be healed. I promised to go, and did so the next day. From the first treatment I began to feel better, and that very evening I went back to work and have been working ever since. Mumps and colds have also been quickly overcome with the help of a practitioner. I am very thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the blessings I have received.

(Mrs.) Ruth La Grone, New Orleans, La.

For ten months I was sick, very much distressed, melancholy, and crying every day; I would get hysterical crying spells, when no one could console me. My body was puffed out abnormally, and my condition puzzled the doctors; the medicines and pills were changed often—I wanted something else, something different. A friend finally urged me to call a Christian Science practitioner. I did so, and after talking with her I felt a great deal better, but still was uneasy about my physical condition. The second day I spoke to her of the fear I had that I might have to go to bed before my body would become normal. Right there and then was explained to me what God is, and man's relation to God, and I was healed in two days—stepped out of the dark into the light, never to doubt what God can do. I stepped over the threshold from sickness to health, or from fear to faith in God alone.
