Had our medical critic taken an hour for careful investigation, he would not have made the attack on Christian Science in his address before the Lutheran Hospital graduating class of nurses that was reported in the News. He objected to the statement by Mrs. Eddy that the sick have been healed through reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," of which she was the author.

For over forty years, and in constantly increasing numbers, people of unquestioned integrity have given testimony of the healing of all manner of diseases through reading Science and Health. A student of that book knows that such healings have been accomplished by bringing into consciousness the truth that the great Master demonstrated, and that he said would set men free. The public statement of this fact by Mrs. Eddy and her followers, even though it meets with our critic's disapproval, is entirely consistent with Jesus' admonition in his Sermon on the Mount, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
