It is with a deep sense of gratitude for all the blessings which Christian Science has brought into my life that I write this testimony. For over seven years I have proved that Truth is the actual life of man. When Christian Science was brought to my notice I had been an invalid for more than twelve years, owing to what the doctors diagnosed as valvular heart trouble accompanied by extreme weakness. I was also troubled with severe attacks of inflammatory rheumatism. Although everything was done for me in the way of strengthening foods and medicines, I could not walk without fainting, or exert myself in any way without extreme suffering. Every winter was spent in bed. Then some copies of the Christian Science Sentinel were sent to me, and when the friend who had sent them came to see me, I said I should like to read the book that was mentioned so many times—"Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. This was lent me, and when reading it I saw that God is the only Life, and in the words of one of our beautiful hymns, I found "my Life, as God's own child" (Hymnal, p. 192). I put aside all material remedies, asked for treatment, and was healed. A fortnight after getting the textbook I was helping in the house, and from then until now have never spent a whole day in bed. I am in good health and lead a busy life doing God's work.

I have found the power of Truth potent to break all fetters, and only a life of purity and self-immolation can prove my gratitude to our beloved Leader for the revelation of the truth that makes free.
