The Truth Seeker

In an item in a recent issue of The Truth Seeker, surprise is expressed that Christian Scientists "have changed their foundation from love to hate," and are "actually supporting the war." While it is undoubtedly true that a great majority of Christian Scientists, like all good citizens, are supporting it, it is not because they regard war as an ideal method of settling differences between nations, but rather because they believe that even war is preferable to the loss of that degree of human freedom which has been gained through the ages and handed down to this generation as a precious heritage. Therefore war may be relatively right,—in fact is nearer right than peace without righteousness.
