I am very grateful that I have found Christian Science,...
I am very grateful that I have found Christian Science, as it is the religion for which I have been looking all my life. I had always believed in a God who was good and just and had nothing to do with the wrong and injustice of the world, but I was not able to find out what could be done to lighten the burden. I did not attend any church until I heard of Christian Science. Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 390), "It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony." It is for this right understanding of God and His laws as revealed in Christian Science that I am most grateful, also for the knowledge that there is no trouble, no sorrow, no difficulty so great that it cannot be overcome.
Before hearing of Christian Science I had suffered for some years from so-called gastric ulcers and dilatation of the stomach. I had tried a great many different treatments, including electric treatment and a stomach pump, and though slight relief was obtained for a time the trouble always came back again. Several doctors were consulted. One advised an operation, and another said I should always have to lead a very quiet life. I never felt really well, and hardly knew what it was to be anything but tired, until after I took up the study of Christian Science. First the tiredness was overcome, so that I could lead an active life and do anything I wanted to do, and later I was completely healed of the other trouble. I am now leading a very active life and am perfectly strong and well in every way. Christian Science brings fresh blessings into my life every day and I can find no words to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy.
