After eleven years of practical proof of the healing power of Truth, I wish to give my testimony of love and gratitude. I was in a miserable physical condition and in an even more helpless state mentally when I turned to Christian Science, being overcome with grief at the passing on of my baby. Turning away from God, or what I had been taught to believe God is, I refused to be comforted. I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, was unfit for work, and cared little whether I lived or died; I could not think of God as loving, or even as just.

One day a message of Truth and Love came to me; the still, small voice told me to open my Bible. I obeyed, and opened at the New Testament. There I saw what I had never seen before, although I had read the Bible and attended church and Sunday school all my life; I saw where Jesus made it clear that he healed the sick through the power of God. The angel whisper said that what God did then He does now, and that Jesus had shown us the way. I listened and rejoiced, and when my husband came to dinner I told him of this message of Truth. His reply was, "I think the healing will be done that way sometime;" yet even then it was knocking at my door. I lived in this new found truth for days, and then was led to get some Christian Science literature to read, although I knew nothing of this teaching. The literature appealed to me as the most beautiful I had ever read, and my next desire was for the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I felt a great longing for this key to unlock the Bible for me. A copy was loaned to me and I spent hours studying one page, striving to understand its teachings, with the result that my efforts were blessed, for in a short time I found myself mentally and physically well and happy.
