It is more than eight years since Christian Science awakened me to the truth about God and man, and so effected a wonderful work in my life, healing me of nervous prostration, or as physicians pronounced it, neurasthenia. Old theology had preached the goodness of God, but Christian Science demonstrably revealed that goodness and gave me the inevitable correlative, that God's image, man, reflects that goodness. This revelation of man led me out of old fears and destructive beliefs into newness of life in Christ Jesus.

Several months after the physical healing a further awakening came with the realization that after years of weary struggle to find satisfaction in my religious experience, Christian Science had supplied me with such an abundance of wholesome spiritual food that I was feasting on it in perfect content every moment. A deep and lasting gratitude followed closely upon this joyful discovery, the fruitage of which was further healing for myself and others. The truth of our Leader's statement, "Since God is All, there is no room for His unlikeness" (Science and Health, p. 339), has been a beacon light, enabling me to hold more firmly to the absolute Science of being. The spirit of gratitude for what Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has done for mankind is quickening my daily life in thought and action, and this in turn leads to a more intelligent appreciation of God and His Christ.
