War Relief Fund

[Translated from the German]

"With a heart filled with gratitude I am sending you the receipt, and beg to express to you my sincere thanks for the trouble you have taken. The gift has indeed helped me out of the embarrassment, and the promise, 'Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee,' has again been fulfilled. Next to God, I am thankful to all the givers. I shall also endeavor to be a real Christian Scientist, for the more I read the more I feel that much is lacking as yet; but I hope that in this way I shall realize more and more clearly God's presence."

"Please receive my sincere thanks for your kind gift. Be assured that it was not given to an unworthy one. This dreadful war has brought me so much into arrears that I am very grateful to the Christian Science relief committee for this help in the hour of need, especially because of my children. Let me also thank you for the Christian surprise which I received from Christian Science through a lady. May God's goodness reward you a thousand times."

"With a feeling of deep gratitude to God and to my fellow men, I take up the pen to express to the Christian Science relief committee the heartfelt thanks of our whole family for their help in these hard times. May God's blessing be upon all the donors."
