Four years ago Christian Science found me most miserable, physically and mentally. We had suffered severe financial loss in the summer, and in January a little boy was born, only to pass away in seven weeks. This, added to everything else, seemed more than I could bear, and I lost all desire to live. Having no hope in medicine, I turned to Christian Science. Before I had studied three weeks our little daughter became very ill. She lay in a stupor and had a high fever. My husband was bitterly opposed to Science, so he employed two of our best physicians, who said they had never seen anything like it and could not say what ailed her. Then man's extremity proved to be God's opportunity, for my husband told me to try a Christian Science practitioner, and in two treatments the child was entirely healed.

I have never used a drop of medicine since. A severe case of whooping-cough, in which the nose bled profusely and there was almost continual vomiting, was overcome in two weeks. We have learned that divine Love never fails, but meets every need. We have had many other beautiful healings, for all of which I am very grateful, but best of all I have come to love and understand the Bible, which had been a closed book to me. Although my husband seemed to be against me, from the first I was happy, feeling sure that some day he too would find this joy. I had only a few years to wait to realize my hope, and now we both turn to God for everything,—in our business, social, and home life,—and when we do our part we always find results.

I am indeed thankful to God for these many blessings, and for Mrs. Eddy, who has given us this wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
