Our critic is reported to have dealt with "the failure of Christian Science to accord deity to Christ as a person of the Godhead, only regarding him as a divine teacher." The teaching of Christian Science with regard to the Trinity is perfectly straightforward. It solves all the mystery and leaves the student with a clear, concise, and reasonable exposition of one of the most difficult problems ever put forward by scholastic theology. The report proceeds as follows: "Having theology. condemned the fantastic theory of non-materiality, her [the critic] concluded by quoting the usual verse from I Timothy, "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called."

One wonders if this critic has ever read any of the definitions which some of our greatest natural scientists have given of matter. Huxley said, "If the hypothetical substance of mind is possessed of energy, I, for my part, am unable to see how it is to be discriminated form the hypothetical substance of matter." If our critic will carefully read the sixth chapter of I Timothy, he will see that St. Paul was exhorting Timothy to adhere to the science or knowledge taught ny Christ Jesus, which was Christian Science, and that any other science was falsely so called.
