Christian Science came into my experience about five years ago, at a time when I was suffering from an acute attack of appendictis. I took it up purely for the physical healing, as I cared little for religion. Some eight years prior to this incident I had undergone an operation for the same trouble, and during these years suffered severely from stomach disorder. I tried every available remedy,—dieting, fasting for an entire week, exercise, will-power, and mental science; but in none of these did I receive either physical relief or mental satisfaction.

Not until I was stricken with this last severe attack did I finally determine to try Christian Science. Although both doctors, one of whom was my brother from a distant town, urged me to go at once to the hospital for an immediate operation, I was firm in my refusal. Instead, I tried Christian Science and was perfectly healed. The healing was, however, very slow, which made it necessary for me to study the teachings of this religion. My physical improvement kept pace with my moral or spiritual condition; as I clung to error, so did disease cling to me, and as I let go of error there was a perceptible improvement in my physical condition.

Christian Science brought me health, harmony, and purity, and I am grateful to God that I was so fortunate as to be one of those privileged to receive and to profit by this beautiful religion of Christ, which casts out sins and heals our diseases, and which teaches us humility, meekness, and love.
