Nowhere in Mrs. Eddy's teachings can be found the statement or deduction that "Jesus Christ did not live a real life, that he was just an illusion." On the contrary, it was the reality and practicality of his perfect life that inspired Mrs. Eddy in her research which culminated in the discovery of how he did his "mighty works" and restored to this age primitive Christianity. Every page of Science and Health expounds and elucidates this revelation.

The Christian Science ranks are made up of those who have been healed of disease, misery, sin, and unrest after other modes of healing have failed, and who have searched in vain elsewhere for a practical understanding of God, "who healeth all thy diseases." For this Christian Scientists feel and express heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Eddy; but any one with even a superficial knowledge of Christian Science knows that they "worship" the God of Moses and of the prophets, the God whom Christ Jesus came to reveal and whom he declared to be Spirit, the God whom Mrs. Eddy with spiritual insistence declares to be All-in-all.

It is a well known and highly commendable fact that Christian Science has made more Bible students than any other movement of modern times, and had our critic based his research of the subject of Christian Science on its text-book, in connection with the Bible, his second discussion, if presented at all, would have hinged constructively on his first. Christian Science is right thinking, based on God as infinite, ever present Mind, applied to every human activity; it is constructive, because it recognizes good as ever present and the only reality. It quickens the moral sensibilities, enlarges and increases the intellectual capacities, makes for health, joy, and peace, for better homes, better citizenship. Through a comprehension of Love divine, it makes man tender and compassionate with his brother man.
