I have often had a desire to make public what Christian Science has done for me. From childhood I never knew what it was to go through a winter without a hard cold or cough. My people did everything they could think of for me, and doctors passed their opinions upon me, some calling it lung trouble, others catarrh, but only temporary relief was given me. At last one physician said the less medicine they gave me the better off I would be. Then I was taken to a near-by city to see a so-called "mental healer" and seemed to get help, so for a time I studied along those lines.

Four years ago my husband passed on with what the doctors called diphtheria, and while yet in quarantine I became ill myself. On the advice of a friend I then asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner and stopped taking what the doctor had left for me. I began to improve, though for eight months I lost flesh. I found that I must study Christian Science and strive to get well, so I did. As a result, I have been better and healthier ever since. Many ailments have been overcome with the help of practitioners.

Words fail to express what Christian Science has done for me in various ways, for my children, and for my home. The physical healing is but a small part; the spiritual unfolding and uplift is the "pearl of great price." I hope Science may be accepted by more of my people, that it may do for them what it has done for me.
