Christian Science has done so much for me and for members of my family that I wish to acknowledge it and to express my gratitude. For about seven years I was a sufferer from rheumatism, and the last year my heart was so affected that the doctor gave no hope of recovery. I was practically confined to the bed and almost helpless.

When I heard for the first time of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy and that people were often healed by reading the book, I could not rest until my father brought me a copy, and as soon as I began to read I knew Christian Science was the truth. While reading I was attacked by the most intense pain, but I had learned that God did not send this, and that if I turned to Him, He would take care of me. For two days the suffering was intense, but through it all I clung to the truth just learned. After a very bad night, I lost consciousness while declaring that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494). When I again became conscious, two hours later, there was not a single pain, but instead the conviction that I was healed. I dressed and walked out to breakfast, and from that day to this have never had an attack of rheumatism.

I was fearful of the heart trouble, but was healed of it in two weeks through Christian Science treatment, and for six years have been free from it. My husband was healed in one treatment of neuralgia affecting the bladder, from which two of our physicians said there was no relief. All they would do for him was to administer an opiate when the pain became too severe. Many other ailments have been overcome, and I have never ceased to be grateful for Christian Science.
