When I recall the proofs of God's power as demonstrated...

When I recall the proofs of God's power as demonstrated in Christian Science which it has been my privilege to witness, my heart is filled with joy. When I first came to Christian Science for the healing six years ago, I was a physical and nervous wreck, without hope or happiness, for sickness was considered more real than anything else. I had lived from childhood under the belief of not being strong, and rejoice today that I have learned the unreality of sickness, for it has been proven to me that God is man's Life. I have passed through some severe tests, but Truth has been my only physician.

One experience I wish to mention in particular,—the healing of ptomaine poisoning. The general appearance seemed alarming to mortal sense. I however mastered fear and clung to God as my life, and in spite of all evidence to the contrary boldly and fearlessly declared the power of Truth. Instead of the disease finishing its course, as it seemed fairly started to do, the alarming symptoms gave way and vanished. I seemed to be prostrated with great weakness, but declared the all-power and ever-presence of God, good, and while doing so fell asleep. That was at five o'clock in the morning, and I had been taken ill immediately after dinner the evening before. When I awoke, the sense of weakness had vanished.

This testimony is written with the desire that it may be helpful at least to some poor sufferer who may be hesitating and in doubt as to what Christian Science has for the earnest seeker, and also as a tribute of gratitude for help received in our home. I am most grateful to kind friends who have so lovingly helped me on in my journey from sense to Soul, and I rejoice today that I am able to help others in this healing ministry. What a debt of gratitude we owe to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy!
