In April, 1915, an ankle which had troubled me occasionally for a number of years began to be inflamed again, and words cannot describe what I suffered in the next three months. Part of the time I was under the care of a physician, having the leg lanced in over thirty different places.

Previous to and during this time I had read the Christian Science periodicals, which were frequently mailed to me by true friends, and for which I am very grateful. One dear friend sent me some names of practitioners in an adjoining town and advised me to have treatment. I told my friends that if I was ever healed God would do it. Soon after this my husband took me to the adjoining town and a loyal worker in Christian Science was sent for. She treated me for one week and I was healed,—brought out of darkness into light, out of error into truth, thus proving again the promise of the Scripture, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." There has been no return of the affliction, but I am well and able to do my own housework, thanks to Mrs. Eddy, who so lovingly brought to us all this understanding of divine Truth.
