Gratefully I acknowledge the untold benefits of Christian Science, and deeply I appreciate the blessings that Mrs. Eddy's life work has brought to me and mine. My first knowledge of this teaching came through the healing of an elder brother, many years ago, of what was pronounced by several physicians to be the last stages of lung trouble. I did not, however, become a student of this Science until about nine years ago, when I had convincing evidence of its efficacy in the healing of my little daughter of spasms after all other means had failed.

Three more children have come to our home, and we have depended on Science in every time of need. It has proved indeed the rod of correction, the supporting staff, and the promised Comforter. Sometimes the way has led through deep waters and fiery trials,—contagious diseases, accidents, temptations, have had to be overcome,—but I have found that while we are not spared these testing times any more than were the followers of old, we are delivered from them, as were they, and "when the smoke of battle clears away," as we read on page 22 of Science and Health, we can discern the good that has been done.

I consider the Christian Science literature to be the "pearl of great price," worthy of the demand "Sell all that thou hast" to secure it, and I know any one can obtain it who desires it sufficiently to strive faithfully for its possession. It has been my great privilege to receive class teaching, and to hear several lectures, also to be able to bring the healing Word to others, for which, in the words of our Leader (Science and Health, p. 568), I "give thanks and magnify the Lord of Hosts."—
