Self-seen

IN Science and Health Mrs. Eddy, commenting upon Jesus' healing of the insane man, writes, "The Scripture seems to import that Jesus caused the evil to be self-seen and so destroyed" (p. 411). This thought of evil as being actually self-seen is a large one, and being possible of realization under all conditions, would go far toward a reformation of any conception of selfhood that was found to be unworthy. Surely, as the poet Burns says,—

It wad frae monie a blunder free us,
And foolish notion,
