I wish to express my deep gratitude for all the happiness...

I wish to express my deep gratitude for all the happiness and contentment which has come into my life through the study of Christian Science,—gratitude to God for this truth, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her sacrifice in bringing it to this age. When it was first presented to me nine years ago, I was in good health and outwardly supplied with everything to make me happy; but in spite of this I was conscious of longing and waiting for something which would give real and lasting satisfaction, conscious of seeking for some explanation of the purpose and aim of life. Christian Science appealed to me at once, because it gave just these things for which I had been blindly groping in the dark. During these years no medicine of any kind has been taken, but all ailments that have appeared have been healed through the power of Truth.

Christian Science has brought me wonderful moral healing. All desire for tobacco disappeared about seven and a half years ago, although smoking had been one of my chief pleasures for many years. There has been no return of the desire and no sense of loss from giving up the habit.

It is, however, for the entirely changed outlook upon life and people, for the ever-growing sense of the omnipresent, inexhaustible Love which satisfies, for the unfoldment of the ever-present Christ, who alone and always heals the sick and saves the sinner, that I am most deeply grateful.
