In reading the parable of the sower I am reminded of my experience in coming into Christian Science. While reared in the teachings of an orthodox church, I had never become a member, because there seemed to be something lacking; yet I always felt that sometime I should find a religion which would appeal to me. About five years ago, when my husband, who was a traveling salesman, stopped at Memphis, Tenn., he found a copy of The Christian Science Journal in his room at the hotel. After reading it, he sent it to me with the message that the book seemed to advocate the ideal religion for which I was seeking. We read the Journal thoroughly, and discovered that there was a Christian Science Society in our town. No time was lost in attending the services, and in a short while we bought our first copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

Three weeks' study of this wonderful book healed my husband of asthma in its worst form, after all material remedies had failed. We are grateful to the unknown friend who opened the way for us to find the truth. It was seed sown in good ground, for we were ready and eager for the truth. This is work we all can do, even the least of us. We can sow the seed, the "word of God," by leaving our periodicals wherever we can. Paul says, "There are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all," and Mrs. Eddy tells us on page 111 of "Miscellaneous Writings" that "leaving the seed of Truth to its own vitality, it propagates: the tares cannot hinder it."
