Nothing could be farther from the teaching of Christian Science...

Nothing could be farther from the teaching of Christian Science than the statement that healing can be accomplished by suggestion. The healing which comes through the understanding and application of Christian Science is the exemplification of that well-known saying of Jesus, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." It comes, as stated in the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 251), through "the higher understanding that the divine Mind makes perfect, acts upon the so-called human mind through truth, leads the human mind to relinquish all error, to find the divine Mind to be only Mind, and the healer of sin, disease, death." The efficacy of this "higher understanding" in the healing of disease is being attested daily by thousands who have turned to Christian Science for health and happiness, of whom the writer is one.
