About three and a half years ago my son was afflicted with rheumatism of the heart and a complication of diseases. Medical aid proved of no avail. Then Christian Science was brought to my notice by a lady who was not a member of the Christian Science church, but who had been greatly benefited by the truth it taught. She loaned me the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. My son read it and was healed. My wife, my younger son, and myself have all been cured of ailments of years' standing, among them rupture and abnormal growths.

I preached what I thought was the gospel for twenty-four years, but all that time was conscious of a barrenness that could not be explained. In my missionary work in the South I often felt for the afflicted people I was called upon to visit. I could simply pray for them, and my prayer was not one of understanding. Now, even my slight understanding of Christian Science is of immeasurable value. I am in better condition than ever in my experience. The rupture, which was of about thirty years' standing, has been permanently overcome. I have gained much in weight and can run like an athlete, where before I could not even walk more than a few blocks without pain, and many times I was compelled to sit down.—C. W.
