For over fifteen years I suffered intensely from various ailments, diagnosed by physicians as stomach trouble, an abnormal kidney condition, rheumatism, catarrh, and bowel disorder. Finally I was that dropsy was setting in, but if I would adhere strictly to the treatment offered I could be cured. This I did, continuing medical treatment from time to time until 1909, when my condition was worse than ever, the physician in attendance admitting he was at a loss to know what to do next.

At that time there seemed to be nothing for me but surgery, for my suffering was continual. I was about to yield to an operation, when Christian Science was recommended to me, and I feel that divine wisdom guided me to the office of a practitioner, who with all patience made clear to me that all things are possible to God, infinite Mind, Life, Truth, and Love, a thought that has helped me many times I took treatment for three months and was healed, words are inadequate to express my thankfulness to God and my gratitude to our beloved Leader for this healing. It is my desire to know more of this blessed truth which freed me in such a short time from the bondage to which I had been a slave for so many years.

After studying Christian Science about a year, one day while crocheting the hook slipped and entered my forefinger clear to the bone. My first thought was to go down-stairs for assistance, as I was alone, but immediately I realized that I was alone with God, and as the hook hung heavy from the finger I proceeded to prove my faith by my work. It did not seem any time before the finger was free. This happened between four and five o'clock in the afternoon; at six, when my husband came home, in telling him of the demonstration I showed him the finger, but we could find no mark or discoloration or soreness at all.
