For several years I suffered from a stomach complaint which a well known local physician pronounced due to a malignant growth. In October, 1913, I was operated upon but was not relieved. The following February Christian Science was brought to my attention by a friend. I had no idea what it was, but was willing to try anything that would heal me. My friend talked to me that evening, and after the conversation I threw away the medicine I had been carrying with me. Two days later a Bible was purchased, also a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and a Quarterly; then I went to a practitioner and was given a treatment. Immediately after this I ate a substantial meal, the first in nine months, having been on a very light diet. I suffered no inconvenience whatever, and was completely healed in one treatment. During the next five days my weight increased considerably. The habit of using profane language and drinking intoxicating liquors was also overcome.
While I thank God daily for this healing, I also feel thankful for all that is being done for mankind today through Christian Science. Mrs. Eddy's words in the Preface of Science and Health (p. vii) have met a great need with me, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, today is big with blessings."—G. G. McGarrah, Wichita, Kan.
