Fifteen years ago I was looking in every direction but the right one for physical harmony and mental peace. While making plans for an operation, I visited a friend who said, in reply to my questions about Christian Science, "I believe in the healing, but not in the religion." As she talked I was convinced of the reasonableness of the religion, but doubted its healing efficacy. (Two years later we had class instruction and were set right by the teacher.) As I remember it, I forgot about my physical condition after two weeks' treatment, but continued going to the practitioner for seventeen weeks, she dismissing me at the end of that time. In these years I have had deep grief and bitter experiences, but am now well and happy, learning daily that, as we are told on page 6 of Science and Health, "divine Love corrects and governs man."

I have many times voiced my gratitude for Christian Science in our mid-week meetings, and now think it time to send my testimony for publication, although mere words are not sufficient to express my heartfelt gratitude. That can be duly shown only in an honest endeavor to work out my own salvation and do what I may to lessen the world's woe.
