It is impossible to describe in words the blessed influence...
It is impossible to describe in words the blessed influence which Christian Science has had upon my life. From childhood on I was greatly given to worrying and rarely was able truly to rejoice over anything, as I lived in constant fear of the future. My sister called my attention to Christian Science, but I had not yet grasped the subject when I experienced a severe blow, the sudden loss of a child.
Having taken up my abode near Dresden at the time, I would often go to see a dear Christian Science practitioner, who most lovingly pointed out to me the straight and narrow way which "leadeth unto life." During the darkest period of my life I was made to see that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Worries vanished through the recognition that I could cast all my care upon Him, as He cares for us all. I began to understand the beautiful teachings of Christian Science. While others believed me to be on the verge of despair, light had dawned within my consciousness; I had caught a glimpse of Truth. The practitioner who had shown me so much love gave me absent treatment a year later, when a child was born to us. The birth was painless, and the child is growing splendidly.
These lines are written in deep felt gratitude to God for Christian Science, as well as to all the dear ones who have helped me on the way of Truth.
