During the greater part of my life I have been subject to stomach trouble, nervousness, and sleeplessness, sometimes being in bed two or three days at a time, and never knowing what it was to feel like a healthy person. One day a friend brought me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, but I scarcely looked at it for months. There were two or three of these attacks in the mean time, and the doctor came each time. He succeeded in giving relief but did not effect a cure. Then discouragement set in and a great fear that I might lose my reason. With it all I had a very bad temper and a jealous disposition, and was in fact about as unhappy as a person could be. Finally I began to read the book and found that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." I held fast to the truth and read and prayed for nearly ten hours. That evening I ate a good supper and have never had an attack since. A skin trouble and other disorders have also been overcome.
For six years God has been my only reliance, and I am grateful to Him for all these blessings. I am also thankful to Mrs. Eddy for making this new-old truth available to mankind.—Susan G. Slifer, Hamilton, Ohio.
