Before Christian Science came into our family, and during my young girlhood, I had a severe attack of appendicitis. The physician who attended me advised an operation, to which my parents would not give their consent. I recovered enough to attend school, but was not strong or well. Some time afterward I had a return of the same disease. My mother, who was then interested in Christian Science, called a practitioner, and treatment was given. In a short time I was healed, and there has been no return of the trouble during the nineteen years that have since passed. I am grateful to God for this healing.

My desire is to let my daily living express my thankfulness to Mrs. Eddy for being willing "to leave all for Christ" (Science and Health, p. 141), that she might bring to light again this healing truth, which is so clearly explained in her text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
