When Scientists are walking with God they are constantly...
When Scientists are walking with God they are constantly coming upon proofs of His power. One morning I felt severe pains, and by evening they seemed worse. Then a small growth was discovered. A physician who diagnosed the condition said it was quite serious, being caused by a strain. He said the growth should be opened without delay, and added that he had seen many such cases and advised me not to neglect it. I refused to have any medical aid, however, and Christian Science treatment was begun. Shortly after this I dressed and went out in the park with my books, free from pain and experiencing no inconvenience in walking. That night the formation opened without any pain. There was no uncleanliness connected with it, and within twenty-four hours it was practically all gone.
A friend came to see me the following morning and I told her how thankful I was for the experience. "Why," she said, "before I knew of Christian Science I had the same thing, and I was flat on my back for two months with a trained nurse attending me, and the affair ended up with blood-poisoning." To say that I am thankful for my knowledge of God as Love and man as His perfect child, very inadequately expresses my feeling. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy and all the dear Science friends and helpers. To be a Scientist is indeed to be a helper!
